From our guest book
When they leave, guests write a few words in the guest book.
We read them all and every message makes our day. Feel free to write a few lines or let the children draw something before you drive home with sand in your shoes.

Good to know before you leave
Is Vakantiehuis Alegria suitable for a group of 12?
Yes. Vakantiehuis Alegria is a holiday home on the coast for 12 people, ideal for a large family or two families who are friends. There are five bedrooms over two floors. Three rooms have a 140 cm box spring bed, a mirror and a washbasin, one room has a bunk bed and one room has two bunk beds. With two bathrooms and two separate toilets, mornings run smoothly.
How far is the house from the beach?
The house is in Westende, part of Middelkerke on the Belgian coast, 40 metres from the beach. You simply follow the street and you are on the promenade. There are no tram tracks to cross and hardly any cars, so children from a certain age can walk to the beach on their own. For a house for 12 people, that is rare. The centre with shops and restaurants is close by.
When do I arrive and when do I leave?
In the summer holidays you rent from Friday to Friday. In the other school holidays you rent for at least one week. Otherwise you can also come for two nights, for example arriving on Friday at 5 pm and leaving on Sunday by 7 pm at the latest. After a week you leave at 10 am. Feel free to ask what is possible for your dates.
What is included in the price?
The price is for the whole house and includes gas, water, electricity and final cleaning. Bed, bath and kitchen linen are not included, so bring your own. You will find the prices per period above, under Prices.
Is bed, bath and kitchen linen provided?
No. Bed, bath and kitchen linen are not included. Bring your own sheets, towels and tea towels. Gas, water, electricity and final cleaning are included in the price.
Is there parking?
Yes. The house has two double garages with room for four cars and for the bikes. The garages are next to the garden. That way the cars and bikes are always safe and dry. You start every trip along the coast without looking for a parking space.
When is the market in Westende and Middelkerke?
On Monday morning there is a market in Westende-Dorp, on the Arthur Meynneplein. Middelkerke has a market on Thursday morning in the Populierenlaan. There is a farmers' market on Saturday morning on the Marktplein. For everyday shopping, the Delhaize supermarket in Westende is a seven-minute walk from the house.
What can you do in Middelkerke when it rains?
On a rainy day you can go bowling, laser shooting or karting at De Kegel X-treme in Middelkerke, seven minutes by car. The Mercator museum ship is in Ostend, and in Bruges you can walk from one museum to the next. With the Coast Tram you travel the whole coast in the dry.
Can we throw a party?
Dance parties and stag or hen parties are not allowed. Celebrating a family birthday is fine. Come for a weekend with twelve for your parents' sixtieth birthday, for example, bring in a caterer or have a barbecue, and put on some music. The house is meant for families who want to enjoy time together, with respect for the neighbours and the house.
Where can I hold a big party instead?
In our own party venue in Beernem. We also rent out Feestlocatie Alegria, a rustic hall with oak beams for 50 to 200 guests. There is a garden for an outdoor ceremony, a terrace and free parking for 80 cars. You choose your own catering and decoration. Ideal for a wedding, a communion, a birthday or a company party.
How do I book?
Choose your arrival and departure in the calendar, enter the number of guests and send your details. Your request goes straight to Sandra, who checks the dates and gets in touch with you to confirm the booking. Rather call? Dial +32 497 19 37 91.
